Bud Block

STRATEGIC ADVISOR

Dr. Bud Block is a management psychologist with a distinguished background as a consultant, executive coach and educator. He serves as an advisor to senior executives in the areas of talent management and change management. Bud Block also manages a consortium of executive coaches who assist companies in the accelerated development of high potentials.

Dr. Block was formerly a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC where he led the People and Change Practice for over 15 years as part of the GHRS (global human resource solutions) line of service. He also advised PWC on the implementation of a number of its own change initiatives.

Bud Block has served numerous clients across a broad range of industries. He has assisted BP, AMOCO, Texaco, and BHP Billiton as well as Devon Energy within the oil and gas industry. Other clients have included Allstate, Sears, Morgan Stanley, Ford Motor, Bell Atlantic, Overhead Door, ITT, the US Navy, The US Department of Defense, The World Bank, and The Hartford Insurance.

Dr. Block contributes to the design and delivery of programs in Executive Education at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has served on the faculty of the University of Chicago as well as the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and Loyola University’s Institute of Human Resources.

Bud Block earned his MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He holds a BA in psychology from Washington University where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Dr. Block is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Industrial and organizational psychologists.
